OK, I'm at the shop and found the book...it's

"How to open a Financially Successful BAKERY"

written by Sharon L. Fuller and Douglas R. Brown

it comes with a companion CD-ROM with a pre-written, editable business plan and financial statements in Microsoft word format.

It is published by

Atlantic Publishing Group, Inc.

phone: 800-541-1336
fax: 352-622-5836

I hope this helps!

What do you think about the book...does it seem good?

It's quite informative, even though it's geared to a larger retail bakery, but like everything you take what you need from it and discard the rest. I am still reading it during down time at the shop.

Using it like a study guide.

Does that answer your question?

BTW..the book I got from Amazon.com and it wasn't too expensive and I like the fact it comes with a cd rom of forms too! along with that editable business plan.

Thanks for the info!

I have been waiting to open my own bakery instead of being a home baker but just wasn't quite sure how to do it.

I've been wanting to do the whole bakery thing too, but didn't know where to start with a business plan. Thanks SO much!!! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif I still go back and forth about having a bakery/coffee shop or open a home bakery. I'd have less overhead with the home thing, but lots of headache putting in a commercial kitchen at home. And, sometimes you just need to get away from work! But, at home, I could work when I wanted/needed to, whether it's 3 in the morning or just taking a hooky day. It's kinda hard to play hooky when you have a store front. Well, lotsa praying to do still, but I'll get this book and definitely be one step closer!
