I have run out of my business cards and am now debating as to whether I should order more or instead order postcards instead to hand out.
My dad uses hot cards (www.hotcards.com) rather than business cards since he is in a non-traditional business (he conducts wine-tasting parties), and I really like the look of them. They are the size of postcards and I would be able to have several pics of my cakes on them in addition to all my contact info. I don't have a website (yet!) . The downside is that they don't fit into a wallet. On the other hand, people could keep them on the fridge where they would be seen all the time.
Don't know what to do! I'd love your opinions on this!
Thanks!
I would definitely recommend post cards.
I have used them for a year now and people love them. Mine are 2 sided 5 color and have pictures of some of my favorite cakes on it. When you hand someone a business card, it doesn't say to much about your business except your name and how to contact you, sure they can look on your web site but good first impressions are always best.
Before I designed mine, I went to a few bridal shows and got samples of handouts, postcards and business cards. Even though the info was not all from Cake decorators, I got some great ideas. Then I went thru them and picked my favorites and designed mine similarly.
I have received a great reception from them and people usually ask me for more than one to pass on to a friend.
Good Luck,
Lori V.

I have both. I have mine located at the coffee shop I bake at. I have found that my business cards go faster than the post cards. Maybe because it is easier for people to grab and put in a wallet or purse? Good luck on your decision.
You can also consider a 2-sided full color business card.
Or maybe a business card that folds out, like a tent.
You'll have more room to show off some work and still have it fit in a wallet.
If you're planning on doing any bridal shows though, I think postcards would stand out more.
If you can do both somehow it would be good too... maybe a nice postcard and a simpler business card...
