How does MMF hold up in outdoor heat? I've got a wedding cake this weekend for an outdoor reception and I'm planning on using MMF, just want to know what to expect!

What is MMF? Is it a buttercream?

Well, I made a cake for a contest last summer from MMF. It was subjected to the heat, them running through the mall, displayed-judged then taken back home in a hot car. As you can see from the picture it sagged a little on the bottom. But I think overall it faired well. icon_wink.gif

Never had any issues with my MMF in the heat (so much better for heat than buttercream). I had a July 4th cake outside in a box for over 6 hours last year in the heat. Just try to keep it in the shade obviously.

I agree that if it is an outdoor wedding(while there are high humidity bc recipes) I think fondant will fair a bit better than bc! icon_biggrin.gif
