which brand cake mix is better. Duncan Hines, Phillsbury or Betty Crocker.

I tried a duncan hines white twice and for some reason it doesnt bake up properly. I had a friend had the same problem. I was thinking on switching to betty Crocker... icon_rolleyes.gif

Either BC or DH if you're going to add to it. Pillsbury already has pudding in the mix, so I don't use it.

I usually use scratch cakes, ubt haven't had a problem when I used DH. My teacher said to lessen the oil amount to only a coupla tablespoons instead of whatever it calls for.

I've tried all three brands, and I like the taste of Duncan Hines the best. I haven't tried doctoring the ingredients yet. I love the taste of the white or chocolate Duncan HInes just as it is.

BC or DH for me, Pillsbury is a big no-no for me and I love BC!

I LOVE Duncan Hines but it is never on sale so Betty is my next favorite.

Pillsbury is YUCK. Way to dry.

If using a mix I only use Betty. I really like her triple chocolate one, yummy! DH and Pills seem dry to me and not as flavorful. I guess it just depends on your tastebuds!

DH for me!! I get consistent results with it. (and it's the one that's always on sale in my area) I do like BC Golden Vanilla though.

Betty Crocker...I find it turns out extremely light and moist.

I have tried all three but found that I really like the Pillsbury better. It seems to bake more even without the big bubble in the middle of the cake. I love the taste and have not had any problems with it being dry.

This debate has been on here several times. I think the last forum I saw that DH won hands down. I usually use any that are on sale but prefer DH followed by BC. I love that cute little Doughboy but his cake mixes aren't the best in my book.

I bought the Cake Doctor book and she tells the difference in the brands as far as adding pudding to them.
