I got a call Friday for a Grad Cake for Sunday. I immed went to the pix site here and found one I knew I could do and copied this one from BJ, she is right, it is a crowd pleaser. Easy to do and impressive. I didnt post it to the gallery since it is almost identical (hers is better) to the other.
On a side note. I am delivering it to a downtown restaurant for the party. It is a 11x15 and a little heavy. I take one of my 3 year old boys with me. I lift the tailgate to the mini van, get the cake out, figure out there is no way I can get the tailgate back down and there is no where to set the cake, so I leave the tailgate open, no biggie. I tell my 3 year old to hold on to mommys shirt while we cross the street. So we are crossing the street, taking both hands to carry the cake, Dane goes "mommy", I look down and his jean shorts are around his ankles. All I can do is laugh, because I cant do anything else holding the cake. About that time 2 guys walk out of the restuarant, they start laughing to, help my boy, then close my tailgate. Funny trip.

I am so sorry that you had a difficult time delivering your cake. (Beautiful by the way) I am also glad you didn't tell me that story in person because I couldn't help but to laugh myself silly! I have a 3 year old son too and can only imagine that happening to me. LOL Thanks for sharing the story, you gave me a good chuckle this evening.

Well done! I'm glad you were inspired by the picture of my cake. I love the red paper - it was tough doing mine with icing - I like your idea better - much easier too I'm sure - Can I use your idea now? Glad everything turned out well with your son too. Thanks for the smiles. thumbs_up.gif

You did a great job! I also have a 3 year old boy. He usually stays at home when I have to deliver a cake! He is a handful and makes me nervous when I am trying to unload the car! icon_razz.gif

Normally I don't take my kids with me to deliver however this was a former teacher of my oldest son. Dane, my middle son, the one that I took, is also my most compliant one, I ask, he does, my other 2, forget it. My middle one is also my "mammas boy" he is my soft sensative one, loves to help me cook and "decorate".

Great cake and story! I have a 2yob, and could easily picture his pants sliding off his skinny little butt! It's wonderful that you kept your sense of humor through the whole thing.

I just got this pic in part of an email, and it made me think of your post. At least YOU were not the one losing your pants in the middle of the street! Bwaa haaaa!

Oh that is funny, laughed my butt off (I wish) Yeah, the thought of having my pants around my ankles and holding a paid cake order is a worst nightmare. Shivers.
