Yesterday there was a post about doing a cake challenge between scratch and box mix cakes.

Now it's gone. Did something happen while I wasn't around??? icon_confused.gif

I wondered about that, too. I saw it this morning, I think.

Maybe things got "heated" and it was removed. I was going to read it, but had to leave.

Same happened to me. Probably it has been locked. JoanneK if you are still interested you should just PM the original poster. People must have felt offended by the direction the post was taking.

Me too. Went to go the page 3 and it came up and said "Topic not found".
Did it get nasty?

I believe it may have been locked and deleted... I just checked "My Forum Posts" and it's not listed. I should've been with-in the first 2 pages I went thru to page 8 and it's not listed there... so it had to be deleted....

Oh I read all 10 pages and some posts were getting nasty. I don't like to participate in those topics, but for some reason I do read them.

If it's the one that had the word Throwdown in the title, it's definitely gone.

I also read up to like page 8 and then I had to go do something and when I came back it was gone. I just wished that people PMed more. If someone was concerned about the tone of the original poster, then by "talking" to her directly they might have better understood where she was coming from and if they still were not pleased with it, then, they wouldn't neet to keep reading the post. It seemed like the person who accepted to be a contender was not at all worried or offended by it.

Just my 2 cents.

I know. I went away for a few hours and now it's gone. icon_mad.gif Not sure why it had to be deleted. They could have just locked it. I just wish people wouldn't get so pissy (for lack of a better word) If something offends you, pm the person and let them know. (or just roll your eyes and move on) No need to get ugly for all to see. That kind of thing usually snowballs and ends up far worse than anyone intended.

If you guys do the challenge, I'll be interested in hearing the results.

Here's hoping this one isn't deleted too! icon_wink.gif

Well I didn't think the tone was really bad in the first post. She didn't' seem angry to me.

Yes I was the one who was going to bake the dr. box cake. I would still like to do it but don't know who the poster was.

To me it would have been fun to do. I happen to LOVE scratch cakes but they take a bit longer so I found a way to dr up a mix that everyone tells me is the best they have ever had. So I wanted to put it up to the scratch cake and see if it would win.

I don't care who would have won. It just would have been fun to see. Also, I think the poster wanted to contact the media so that was fine with me because I don't sell cakes it would not have put me in a bad light if I lost.

I'm so sorry the post took a turn for the worst and go so bad it had to be removed.

If the post still wants to do this I'm still a go! So please PM me and we can take this off the board if need be.

I just want to say I'm sorry to anyone who got their feelings hurt or got upset. I really don't think it was meant that way. At least that's not the way I took it.

It was txkat. I too went away, checked my email, got a notice there was more added to the thread, clicked on the link and nothing... icon_confused.gif Thought my computer was acting up again or perhaps CC. Checked another link, nothing. icon_confused.gificon_confused.gif I, truly, did not get the impression txkat was issuing a challenge like one hears on the advertisements for the WWF. Read like it was harmless to me, but then I did not get in one most of the later pages. Glad to read that it was something other than my computer or CC. I just hope no one got too bent out of shape over it. Probably a good thing I didn't get in on the last pages... I just hate reading posts that get ugly. When I sense a thread heading in that direction, I quietly bow out and hit the "do not follow this thread any longer tab." icon_sad.gif
