Hi

Has anyone tried frosting a chiffon cake? If yes, what type of frosting did you use? Will it collapse given that chiffon cakes are extremely soft and light?

Can you bake a chiffon cake in a tin other than those with a funnel in the centre?

Advice needed.

Thank you.

In the past (before "decorating")I used a 7 minute frosting recipe (generic) but perhaps one of the lighter type BC's might work...like the IMBC..I have never used that but I always get the impression that it is light..looks lovely too!!

I usually do a merengue based buttercream. I prefer that because the cake itself is not to sweet. If you'd like the recipe let me know. I have iced it with regular buttercream, and have had no problems with it.
