I don't know why, but I thought is comment was very funny and I wanted to share. And I apologize in advance if this is just a fool in love story, and it's really not funny
Yesterday, I was a cake baking fool! I had to make a quarter sheet for my sister's birthday, a 10 inch cake for my dad's birthday, and 2 8-inch cakes for my mom and I for class today. I was in an extremely bad mood because I somehow misplaced my other 8 inch pan, so I had to bake each layer individually. After I got everything finished, my boyfriend came over, gave me a hug, and said "You smell like cake!"
That is so funny Gina!!!
I've got a little story... We get company all the time & it's mostly friends from the Fire Dept. We were all sitting around in the livingroom the other night when one of them said, "I like coming to Mrs. Tina's house! It smells like cake!!!" The next comments were... "You're always making cakes why don't you ever have cake out for us when we come?"
I thought that was so funny! I guess I'm gonna have to make a few cakes & freeze them just for visiters. I can thaw them out before they come.
Also, I have went on several EMS calls with icing & cake batter on my face. They always say Tina's making another cake!
Awhh, that is cute!
So you are like a Strawberry Shortcake doll, are you?
I love the smell of cakes and buttercream wafting through the house!

I agree I love the "cake smell". Before I began doing this for the public I only baked a lot at the holidays....so I thought it was cute when my 5 year old wrapped her arms around me not long ago then said "mommy!, you smell like Christmas!"
TC I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS DECORATING AND I HAD COLOR ALL OVER MY HANDS WHEN THE TONES WENT OFF FOR CAR ACCIDENT. SO OF COURSE I LEFT AND WENT TO THE FIREHOUSE. THEY ALL LOOKED AT ME AND SAID ANOTHER CAKE! THEY KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING AND WERE MAD THAT I DIDN'T BRING THEM ANY CAKE.
I was baking a cake for my cousins birthday, this weekend. I decided to whip-up the icing before I was to have dinner with my sister and her friend. I made the icing and placed it in the fridge to stiffen up. On the way in the restraunt i suddely realized that i smelled like butter cream icing.
That's cute....
My daughter can tell I baked a cake when she walks into my house....
She'll say..... I know you baked a cake....what kind...and where is it....LOL... I love the smell of cake and buttercremem icing... mmmmmmmm...
Happy smelling..

I live in an 18 unit apartment building and we can all smell what our neighbors are making (One neighbor makes this awful smelling stuff called 'salted fish'.... peeyew!), anyway, I'm the only one who bakes and needless to say, my kids are the envy of the building.
