I'm a newbie here, but I'd love to jump in.

I vote for HARRY POTTER!! The movie is being released on the 11th. The last book (waaaahhh!) is due out on the 21st. We're re-watching the movies right before we go see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix! And we're rereading the books, too.

If no one likes that, then how about "Vacation / Holiday" or "Under the Sea?" I'm still going through old posts so I hope those haven't been done recently.

Basille Day cookies (I think it's July 15th (?)). Good way to use up that leftover red, white and blue icing from the 4th of July (and indulge any of your French friends).

I vote for Hollywood. I don't know why, exactly. But I love movies!!!

BTW--Over on the TOTM thread ( Theme of the Month) there is a poll going on with the topics " Harry Potter" or Patriotism. Just thought I'd let you two ladies know since you're itchin' to portray Harry. icon_lol.gif

Thanks, Nancy!

Big fan, BTW!

I'm not sure I'll be doing a cake, but I'm, definitely doing cookies! So I would be okay with the Hollywood theme, cause I think I could get away with doing my HP stuff, LOL! I will keep an eye out for what everyone does over there, though. icon_eek.gif

Harry Potter OoP!
15 days... 10 hours and counting!!!

Hi LauraS,
As far as I know there are two "clubs". There is no official "joining", just jumping in with an entry or a comment when or if you feel like it!! No invitations necessary. I can't imagine why you would have to limit yourself to one or the other club. Both would happily welcome you!!
The cookie club is ---obviously---all about cookies. The TOTM club can have any edible entry. ( Cake, cookies, fondant sculpture, whatever)
Each club has a suggestion period or a voting period, then a theme is decided upon. The format/ rules are explained at the beginning of each thread.
Hope to see you in both!!!

Everyone is welcome to join the cookie club just invite yourself. All you have to do is get your piping bags and cookie sheet ready to bake.

Here's how it works, everyone suggest possible themes and then the best possible theme is selected and you bake your cookies snap a pic and post it.

We only have one Cookie Club.

I look forward to seeing your cookies

I vote christmas in July. Haven't made christmas cookies since I started decorating, it would give me a chance to practice for the real thing. Haven't felt comfortable doing anything since I joined this sight. I can see my self doing this one.

There is only one cookie club that deals specifically with cookies, but since cookies are also allowed in the Theme of the Month club can I make a suggestion that we don't have duplicate themes going at the same time? That way people will be more likely to post in both instead of in one or the other. It is just a suggestion though.

Great ideas, everyone! Keep 'em coming!

So far it seems like the most support is for either "Hollywood" or something related to "international"...

Any other ideas? Any other ideas of what the "international" theme could be (so far suggestions have been "teddies of the nations," "cultural icons," and general "international") ?

Come on cookie bakers - there are only 2 more days to share your thoughts about the theme for July...

for international it could be something as simple as your countries flag, national or state flower, animal. famous building, person etc.

Now that I think of it, couldn't Hollywood fall under the international catagory? I mean it IS something that is world-recognized and it's a culture, I suppose. No?
