Just made my first fondant iced cookie this pm. I can't want to post picture. They are absolutly adorable and so easy to do. I like the sweet crunchy taste. If you haven't tried this do so. It is sooo much fun. Watch for pictures. icon_biggrin.gif

I like to use MMF on cookies. It makes it easy to decorate w/royal on top of that. It tastes just as good as royal alone.

just posted my pictures of the cookies. I used 1 16oz bag of jet puffed mini marshmellows, 2 tbsp water, 2 tsp butter flavoring melted in microwave for 60 secs. stirred and microed again for 30 more secs. Pour this into 5 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar. Mix with dough hooks until all combined then put onto greased mat and kneaded. Very easy and tastes really good. My kids said the cookies tasted like moon pies.

Your cookies are adorable.

I assuem you just used the cookie cutter to cut the fondant, and how did you get it to stick?

yes, I used the cookie cutter. as son as you take them out of the oven just lay the fondant on the hot cookie. It will attach itself just like glue.

Can you put royal icing on the cookies you did? How did you color it? Thanks for answering all these questions. I am doing a baby shower for my SIL and am doing cookies that I was about to spent forever on but this sounds really easy! Although I have never used fondant before. Any tips woulf be greatly appreciated icon_biggrin.gif

yes you can put royal icing on, I just used fondant. I kneeded my coor in after it was all mixed and had set for 1 hr. It is really not that hard to achieve color one MMF has been made. This was my first time and I will certainly do it again. I just love how neat they looked. I made quite a few and took to work and they were gone in minutes.

How long do the cookies stay good with the fondant on them and how do you store them?

I am new to this so I am not really sure. Mine only lasted 1 day as they were eaten right up. But, my normal b/c iced cookies last for 7 days easy just stored in a rubbermaid container.
