I'm trying to sculpt figures using fondant but the stuff gets too soft too quickly. Is there something better to use? I'm terrible with tips and icing so I'd like to use something I can make with my hands.

I'm making a cake for Father's Day, one for my twin girls' 3rd birthday and one for niece's birthday within the next 3 weekends. All of which I'd love to get creative and make figures and animals for.

Thanks in advance!!

You might try mixing gumtex in your fondant or maybe use candy clay. They sell it at Michaels in all different colors. Good luck!

I'll have to check out Michaels for the gumtex. I saw a recipe here for the candy clay. It sounds like an easy recipe. Thanks for your suggestions!

Tonight I was playing with MMF and I think it would work great! I actually added a little more Powdered sugar to it until it was a thicker consistancy than what I would use to cover a cake with. It seems to be working great. Gets a little hard sitting in a cold breeze though but massage it in my hands and it's perfect consistancy again. Hope this helps, or at least gives you more ideas!
