if this mongo cookie press could be adapted to do the fondant ropes, etc. might have to make/find new dies for it.

has anyone tried this yet?

That link wouldn't open for me.

I will say I have used my cookie press quite successfully to press out long lines of fondant. I just had to add a wee bit of water to it to make it more flexible to go through the holes. I had my DH make me two more discs...one with the connected triple holes (for the rope) and one with a small 1/4" hole for trim.

The press I've been using for it is a battery operated one that someone gave me..."Here, you can have this. You'll probably get more use out of it than I will" I don't think she had fondant in mind when she said that though.

It might, give it a try and then let everyone know. Then I can tell my husband that I really need one. icon_lol.gif
The only thing I can see that might be a problem is that it might only release a certain amount of dough at a time. I think that's how my mom's press works but it's the little one you can get at Walmart. You might have to modify it and have a second for cookies.

My dh bought it for me right after the christmas holidays this past year. Now you got me wondering. Might have to play with it later and see. I'll let you know. It's not even out of its box yet.

I also use a PlayDoh fun factory. I even have a mini size (on a pen) that I can use for extra fine "hair". I just love to play with my food!
