I don't understand . . . you can't get ANYTHING Wilton, can you? Just the stuff that the store would normally carry, right? You can't go on the website and pick and choose things that weren't initially in stock to begin with, can you? I would think you could only get the things that they have a space on the shelf for . . .

I would think it is for the item that they are out of. If not I'm running like crazy to HL!!! I went yesterday and got all my basics (I'm a newbie newbie newbie!! icon_wink.gif ) I'm planning on going gain with a list of the things I still need.

Happy Shopping! thumbs_up.gif

You don't have to be single . . . I have an amazing hubby who is just happy that I found a hobby and is thrilled to see my excitement when an idea in my head actually manifests itself into a cake! I don't need to hide anything from him.

Somebody PLEASE take my car keys away until the Hobby Lobby coupon expires!

I don't understand. My Hobby Lobby only has ONE cake decorating aisle. Not a huge selection. And yet I keep finding things there that I "need"! I'm getting to the point where I may need to return some things due to lack of storage space!

Cake decorators can be so nice... icon_smile.gif
We went to HL last night and had a basket full of Wilton stuff. As we were about to leave another woman started down the isle. She said, "You know there's a 50% off coupon for Wilton products, right?" We said, "Of course, that's why our basket's full!" She said, "Good, because if you didn't, I was going to give you my coupon and come back later. I couldn't let you buy that much stuff without having a coupon." Can you believe how sweet people can be? The coupon had me in a good mood, but that just put it over the top... so I just had to share the story.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up, oohlalacakes. thumbs_up.gif Between the coupon and ribbon being 1/2 off too.. I was practically stealing them blind last night! icon_lol.gif

Well, the lady who was there said that if I don't see what I'm looking for, they can order it, so I'm taking it as they can order anything from Wilton. lol

Wow . . . that could be dangerous.

Don't worry. I was only kidding. I find reasons anywhere I can for being single. It took me a while but I finally figured out that I am better off. I guess I just don't pick the right kind of men. icon_lol.gif Congratulations on having an amazing hubby. I wasn't that lucky. Raised two kids by myself after getting rid of mine! icon_biggrin.gif

Wow. You've got to be quite a strong woman. I have two little ones and can't imagine being "on" for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Kudos to you for sure!

Oh goodness ckkerber, that's been years ago. I worked two jobs and we made it. I eventually bought a cafe in partnership with my mother and then bought a tavern on my own. Worked both of them until I sold the cafe 3 years later. Owned the tavern for 13 years and sold it. I am now on disability with COPD. Have my kids raised and now have 6 grandchildren that love to stay with Grandma. Youngest is almost 2 and as soon as he hears my KA start up he's there for the beaters and bowl!

Don't worry. You'd be surprised how strong you can be when you have to be. And now that I have gotten totally off the subject..................

Doesn't look like I am going to get to HL. Maybe my daughter can find us some things on Friday or at least get a rain check for them.

Okay went to HB last night, and 112.00 later. I was surprised to find that the isle was full of stuff as if I was the only one who know about the coupon.

It was great, I got a lot of stuff, all the flavoring they had. Whoever came in behind me is going to be a little PO'd.

If it was closer I would probably go again, maybe that's a good thing.

Happy shopping!!!

I went to Michael's today because the usually honor HL coupons but they told me that they couldn't because they didn't have a sale on and something about it being printed off the internet. I told them that that's how HL does their coupons (which they already should know becasue I have used them there before) but they said that there was no way to validate it. I asked if they could just call HL or something and they refused. I was shocked because I never experienced anything like that with them before...so oh well.....

FYI - Our HL in Tomball stocks all Wilton supplies on Friday. I'm not sure if this is the way it is for every store but just thought I'd give the heads up!!

I went today and made a killing!!! I bought $170.00 worth of stuff for $68.00. I had purchased some Wilton items last Friday and they gave me a credit of $18.00 on that stuff and applied it to my ticket today!!! I'm going to hit them again on Friday!

I just got back from HL, didn't even know about them until I joined this site, and we don't have one in our city(just Michaels). Found one in Madison WI, only 35 miles away. So took a little drive and picked up a few things I've been wanting. I also found this really awesome cake supply store (Vanilla Bean), they had everything(except impression mats), picked up some luster and petal dusts, also tips that I could only find on line icon_lol.gif It's a good thing I had my 1 and 3 year old with me, got me out a lot quicker than if I had been on my own.

ok, I'm going to share my Christmas in August...

I help an elderly lady in our complex, and yesterday we went to town. She asked how my class went the nite before, and we started talking about HL. I said I would like to stop in and get just a few little things until the end of the week. She had NEVER been in HL, and as we was going thru the aisle, she was asking all kinds of questions. She saw the colorings, and said - oh my..you have to have all those colors, I said..I only wanted just a few..and she said no, get all of them..I said I already have some of them...so get what you don't have! THEN she saw the wondermold pan...oh my..you HAVE to get that today! I said I'll wait til the end of the week..she said no, I insist...I want a doll cake and I want you to have that pan! THENNN...she saw the script imprints/writing and INSISTED I just HAD TO HAVE THOSE!! When we got to check out, she told cashier SHE was buying..I said NO..she said BULL! You take me to town all the time, this is the least I can do. God, I was like in second heaven with all my new 'toys"!!

DH comes home from work, and said...I got a bonus today...guess we're going to HL huh? Then stupid me, I told him what I got that day, and he said...darn, guess I'll have to spend the bonus on me, then. I said, I don't think so!!

Charb31, this lady doesn't want to adopt a few of us, does she? You are very lucky and she is very lucky to have you to help her out. See, God does repay you for good deeds.

Tell Hubby he can buy a few of the other things you have been dying to get..............

Thank you all who posted about the coupon icon_smile.gif I spent just over $60 and am really considering going to another HL to get a few things that I for some reason talked myself out of on the first trip lol. I went while my 2 older kids were in school & my Mom came to watch the baby so I had endless time to browse icon_biggrin.gif

I got: the new Cakes'n More 3 tier stand (front cover-2007 yearbook), the Oval cake pan set (now I have every shape wedding cake pan set!!!!), the fondant punch set and the fondant ribbon cutter + flower stamens. It has been a wonderful birthday and she even took me out for lunch. Gotta love that MIL of mine, I think I'll keep her (her son too!!)

Of course you deserve it! If anybody asks why, just tell them I said you REALLY needed it! (That way they can just be mad at me!!!)

I only wish I could have bought more...BUT, I think I already own more stuff than my HL carries!(...shhhh!, don't tell my DH though!)

Diane,

Good luck getting the stand, they had lots of them at my HL, at least 3 or 4 more when I left! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get yours...they look so versatile! I love the picture on the box showing the appetizers displayed on the stand...very elegant!

Exactly what I was wanting it for. I don't do many cakes and have never done a wedding cake (not to say that I won't some day) but I wanted it for displaying appetizers or desserts. I am Queen of our Red Hat chapter here and we are putting on a Regional gathering in May. I was thinking how pretty they would be with the cookies and candies and such on them. If I had one and my daughter had one that would be great. I also have the tall tier stand that screws together to display stuff on. I went to one this year in a neighboring town and they had it catered. I keep telling the girls that we can do it ourselves and save money. I owned a restaurant and like to cook in quanity so it doesn't scare me to try to do it. That might me a thread for me to start soon to get ideas.

Diane
