I just announced to my friends & family that I'll be creating cakes "professionally" figuring it would take some time before anyone was interested. Well, one of my friends ended up asking for a quote on my Thanksgiving cake. It is very labor intensive in terms of prep work. It's from the 2004 (i think) Wilton yearbook. The family is made of cookies with royal icing but I think I would use fondant next time. The placeware & food is fondant and the silverware is royal. So, how much would you charge for something like this? TIA!!!

A ton! What a great cake! In my opinion, the effort you put into this cake could never have a price tag put on it. When I tell friends that their ideas are great, but cookies on their cakes is like a double order witha double price tag, they usually change their minds and go for something simpler. However, I would make something like this for family who appreciate your efforts and really are your bext cheerleaders!
