here is my winnie the pooh cake I have been posting about for awhile. I thank everyone who has helped me with it along the way. It is covered im MMF and the images are chocolate transfers. They are my first ones, but I love this method now that I have practiced! It is my 2nd stacked cake too! I was excited about the way it turned out! Thanks for looking, I would appreciate any constructive criticism.
That is absolutely fantastic! All of the characters appear 3D on my computer screen...very cool.
Great great job and well done!
OOOOH! Details!!! Please!! I love the "cloud" borders. What did you make the animals out of? It is so perfect!!!!
OMG!!! I love, love, love this cake!! Such a great job you did!! I wish my girlfriend was using pooh bear for her baby's nursery because this would be her shower cake (minus the birthday cake).
I love chocolate transfers. I used them for a grooms cake and was amazed how good they come out. The detail you can get is incredible. I'm going to do CTs for the shower cake only we're doing nursery rhymes.
Wow...it looks super!
How did you make the characters? I have not tried doing a chocolate transfer yet...is it time consuming???
I know merissa will have alot to add I'm sure but what helped me the most with CTs in getting dh to reverse the image and print it in color. Then you can really see the details when you are piping and the image comes out so much better. I used ct for my um/fsu grooms cake and it took some time but not to the point that I felt it wasn't worth the outcome. And the groom and bride loved the way it looked and that they got to eat it to boot!
Thank-you Dodibug!
Do you use candymelts when piping in the colors? Also do you place wax paper over your image and then pipe on the wax paper?
What exactly is the process??? Similar to a FBCT I guess???
How cute is that??? I love the colors, and Winnie the Pooh is one of my all time favorites! You did an awesome job! I love the clouds too!
Great job!
Your cake came out absolutely perfect! Great job, and thanks for all the tips on chocolate transfers you posted in your earlier thread!
This is how I learned how to do it:
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopict-13945-chocolate.html+transfer.
I used candy melts that I colored.
Thank-you again dodibug.
I am going to attempt one of these for a mod-mom baby shower cake.
I think I will do a practice one before then!
I am crazy in love with this cake, it's SO good, the lines are SO clean and it's really just perfect!
I remember trying these years ago..my colors faded as the chocolate hardened..not sure what I did wrong but yours are really vibrant!!!
Maybe I heated the chocolate melts too much?
The colors looked washed out and they got a "whitewash" look...
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your nice comments. Those of you who were wondering about the pooh characters that I did using the chocolate transfer method..here is a link to another thread where we talked about them in a little more detail

I think dodibug added another link to a tutorial and here is another...

I made the backs of the CT's thick so they wouldnt break (learned the hard way) so that is why the ones on the bottom sort of look 3-D. The others are on lollipop sticks and I stuck them into the cake.
Hope that helps! Thanks again, I really am thankful I found this site. I learned so much from here on how to put this together.
I have to tell you, Merissa, I love your cake. I just had to print the picture and your comments to put in my file and keep FOREVER. Great Job!
