I was surfing the wilton website and saw several discussion forums that discussed "rolled buttercream" as an alternative to traditional fondant. But I never could find the recipe or get anyone to e-mail it to me.
Do any of you know what rolled buttercream is? Or have a recipe? Or any information at all?

thanks!

I haven't tried the rolled buttercream yet but I'm planning to. I still have a lot of questions about it as well. Like is it possible to make figures with rolled buttercream the same way as with fondant? Anyway, I did find this recipe...

I got a really great rolled b/c recipe from chocolate1. You should see if she'll send it to you by pm.

There's also a rolled buttercream recipe on this site. I haven't tried it yet but was thinking that I need to since my husband hates fondant!

I've made it a couple of times. I haven't put it on a cake though. I've always put them on cookies and EVERYONE loves it. Makes sure you use popcorn salt though cause regular salt will leave marks in the finished product, or you can grind regular salt with a mortar and pestle.
