my husband requested a chocolate sour cream pound cake.. one of my most frequently baked cakes BEFORE I started decorating. so today he says "can u do a flashback? I don't need any buttercream, no filling, just chocolate sour cream pound cake."
so I was all set to surprise him and take it to his job....
the recipe calls for 1.5 cups of butter WHY did i put 3.5 cups of butter??~!!!!!!!!
when I put the boiled water in, the batter wasnt as thin an usual, when it came out of the pan i looked and said somethign isnt right.. then I cut it it was like an oil slick on the plate.. so now i am so frustrated and i HAVE to bake another to redeem myself right?
haha yeah well i find that when i talk while im in the kitchen baking, esp. when measuring out ingredients...thats when i mess things up, i forget how many cups im putting in and things like that hah
for you. Sounds like the first time I made coenbread. It was a beautiful golden brown color on the outside. Once cut; it ran like uncooked grits everywhere.

thats funny becasue when I am making my butter cake (recipe I know by heart) I often run back and forth to the puter (of course to CC) while I am measureing and all that.. bad habit I know.. but this time i was actually paying attention becasue I hadn't made it in awhile.
well I just remixed it and the redemption is in the oven.
