i made a 3d monster truck cake over the weekend. i added pudding and sour cream to a yellow cake mix for the "truck". the truck was baked in the wilton 3-d cruiser pan and this was the first time i've used a 3-d pan. well, when the cake was cut, the middle of the truck seemed extremely soft and almost had a pudding like texture.
can someone tell me what i did wrong? maybe i didn't leave it in the oven long enough? i followed the directions and the cake seemed to test done. hmmm... i just don't know. i'm guessing maybe it could have stayed in the oven longer. what do you think?
next time i use that pan i'm definitely going to use the flower nail trick.
i'm so new at all of this and i really want to learn from my mistakes.

thanks in advance for any help icon_smile.gif

I read on one of my 3 D pans to cut the oil down to 1 TBS. Not sure why or if this had anything to do with it but I have made several cakes in the car pan without a problem.

I've used this pan several times along with several other 3d and have never altered the oil, I use a standard cake mix and don't do anything to it. My guess would be that it wasn't quite done in the middle, did you check the deepest part? I never use a nail in these pans but I do turn the oven down to 325.
