What cream cheese icing recipe do you guys use for decorating. I need something that will hold up like buttercream, because I need to attach fondant decorations to the side of the cake. Any help would be appreciated.

Bump. I was literally just about to post this same question. The last time I made a cream cheese frosting it started to melt almost from the moment I took it out of the fridge.

Help!

ATry adding shortening as well as butter to your cream cheese icing. It will help it to keep its shape, i know this is an old thread but i just joined cc!

Hi there!  I'm new.  Perhaps you could use your regular buttercream icing and use cheese cake flavored oil (Lorann) or a cream cheese emulsion (Lorann) to flavor it.  I have not used either of those things yet but I plan on experimenting with them in the near future.
