icon_surprised.gif OMG I am really laughing out loud.... OF COURSE!!!!!! icon_cool.gif I am bringing a Chambord cake roll. Its a new recipe I came up with, derived from a recipe on the Godiva chocolate website.

Its a chocolate sponge roll, filled with a white chocolate mousse made with chambord liquer, covered with a dark chocolate chambord flavored ganache. YUM icon_lol.gif

Oh wow, that sounds awesome. If you bring something with booze, why don't you just bring the Chambord and a box of ring dings? icon_lol.gif

Gin..your cake sounds awesome ! I live closeby to you..do you need a taste-tester??

Of course, chambord and ring dings sound pretty darn good too..

Hey girls, is Lower Bucks county/NE Philly close enough? We're neighbors, huh! icon_biggrin.gif I noticed you all talking about some cake classes and such...I'm dying to take an advanced cake course, I really really wanna be like the pros (like Colette, etc) and there doesn't seem to be very much for decorators in this area.

Any cake shows around? I went to the one in York, PA last year and probably will this year...but it would be fun to attend a larger one.

And yes I get my DH at Walmart too....and my sugar and Crisco and other stuff at Sam's as well.

im also from jersey...southern jersey in the sticks of tabernacle. i also went to ACC and have a pastry and baking certificate, this is what i love and i get to do it everyday! and surprisingly enough, in 'pastry' school they dont teach you much about decorating cakes! i had to learn it on my own. im 21, and probably one of the youngest on this site! icon_biggrin.gif

Another born and bred Jersey girl here. I live in Maple Shade, NJ. I have been decorating for awhile now but still have alot to learn. I have 3 kids 29, 27, and 9. I also have 3 grandchildren 6 , 5, & 4 1/2. They do keep me busy and love me to make cakes and brownies. 3 of them are being cristened tomorrow so I had to make 2 cross cakes and 2 dozen chocolate cupcakes along with the brownies and rice krispie treats. They do get underfoot while I bake but they all do make life interesting.

Yeah the show looks awesome! We have a pretty hairy schedule around here so not sure if I can get away (I also have three little guys, ages 6, 4, and 15 mos), but I did look up the site and emailed for more information about the wedding cake challenge as well. I think it would be sooo exciting! I would love the opportunity to really have to think up a cool cake design... I mostly end up with kids cake orders although I have two weddings in September for a change. But I'd love to get some cake show experience. I won a trophy at the show in York, PA last year, but I was bummed because I was the only one in my category, so I don't know how I did in comparison to others with my same skill level. icon_confused.gif

I'm definately going to keep my eye on that show and see how things work out...
