Count one more for the ice cream cone! The ladybug is really cute too, but I like the detail on the cone.

Both are great but the ladybug on the flower stands out to me.

I vote for the cone!! I love the texture on the cone and the sprinkles! Besides, you don't see ice cream cone cookies as often as flower cookies.

Thanks for your input everyone. I got to reading the rules and it didn't the cookies had to be the same, so I took 'em both. The judging was this evening. Not sure how my cookies did, but a friend called and left a message that my cake got "Best of Show!" I'm so excited, but bear in mind it's just a small county fair, not alot of competition. But not bad for a newbie.

Darandon-It's the Ross Co Fair in Chillicothe OH. Doesn't compare w/the state fair. It's a big deal in our little community though.

msauer-I've never seen the cakes at the state fair, but it would be neat to be apart of it.

I'm in Hilliard - where the Franklin County fair is held. I missed the entry date to get anything in for the fair that was a couple weeks ago. How did you do with your cookies?

I made it to the fair last eve. My cookies came in 4th place. And here's a pic of my cake that got 1st place. I wouldn't have know how do any decorating 5 months ago, but thanks to CC I'm baking and decorating up a storm.

LOVE the Brutus cake! My daughter would love that for her birthday. We also go to a big OSU/Michigan party every year. I'd love to try that. Was the script Ohio a printed image and where did you get it. And how did you do Brutus?

Brutus is a BCT. The script Ohio image and season schedule I designed & then printed on a frosting sheet.
