You can find coloring pages with pictures of him, if you want to draw him on a sheetcake. You'll have to do the inner outlines in a lighter color, white, tan, gray or something ... I hate doing all-black figures. I've never done Darth Vader, but I've done several ninjas.

I have done a couple of darth vader cakes, just cut out his helmet out of a sheet cake. Here are a couple of adaptations! Hope it helps!

These are cool -- this really helps. (I need to check my profile because I didn't know any one responded!) Great job on all the cakes. I really wanted to try the helmet - being brave!! But I like the sheet cake ones too -- I actually went under Darth Vader and PM one of the people who did the helmet -- haven't heard back. Any ideas how I could do that?? icon_smile.gif

Richiescakes, I don't know if it is true for everybody; but when I post something, I don't get e-mails until I've hit "watch this topic for replies". So, after you post something new, when the computer asks if you want to return to your post, do return to it and click on "watch this topic for replies".

I made this one for my neighbor. I used a toy for the stand up figure. I saw this somewhere and wanted to try my hand at it.

For mine, I used half of a sport ball pan for the base of the helmet. Then I carved holes for the eyes and made them and the voice box out of fondant and attached them to the cake w/toothpicks and icing. Then I tinted fondant black and covered the face over the pieces I already attached underneath. After that, I rolled out a separate thicker piece of fondant for the back of the helmet and then accented parts of the face with black icing and painted the whole thing w/water to make it shiny. If I had to do it again, I would have carved more detail in the face so it looked more like darth and not so much like a weird skeleton head!!
