Hi, I have heard that Pastry Pride is a very tasty frosting, and will be using it for the first time tomorrow. Can anyone please share some tips? Thank you!

I've been wanting to try that!

I don't know where to buy it, though. icon_redface.gif

I'm in Knoxville, TN--does anyone know where to buy it here?

Oh, well--here's a bump for you!

Hi Knox you can purchase Pastry Pride at either Costco or Smart& Final. Hope that helps. icon_biggrin.gif

We don't have Costco's here, but we do have KROGER and FOOD CITY.

I think we have ONE store that's a FOOD LION.

Pretty much it for K-town! icon_sad.gif

Thanks for the help, everyone!

Pastry Pride whips up similar to Cool Whip. It tastes great and is soft and fluffy, but it will hold a piped shape. Be sure it is cold before you whip it and keep whipping until it is stiff enough to pipe.

It requires refrigeration. I sometimes blend it with buttercream for a lighter icing. It pipes beautiful shells.

Thank you very much JoAnn. It can be used alone to frost the cake right?

I love Pastry Pride, i get it at Smart & Final here in CA, I don't really like the taste of butter cream, so i use it instead and I even crumb coat my cakes beforeI cover them with fondant, does anybody do the same??

It comes in vannilla, plain and chocolate flavor, I hope you can find it! thumbs_up.gif

Whenever I use Pastry Pride, everyone asks me how I made my frosting. I tell them it's a secret. icon_biggrin.gif

Knoxcop,

Pastry Pride and Rich's Bettercreme are supposed to be the same thing. You may have to buy Rich's. I get mine at Sam's club. 15lb bucket of vanilla for $22 and 15lb bucket of chocolate for $24. Good stuff.
