MIL says I have no talent...maybe I don't - Page 9

I didn't read every other post but I had to put in my thoughts. I have found that some MIL's (like mine and apparently yours) are hard on us DIL's because we "took their little boys away". UGH! I almost called my wedding off because of how much grief she was giving me and my DH (we would have just eloped). Nothing I did was ever good enough...cooking, how I kept my house, etc. Unfortunately it took my FIL's death last year for her to start to treat me nicer. Also unfortunately, she is starting to revert back to her old ways. She does like my cakes but she told another family member that I can't cook! So, what I am saying is I feel your pain and her treatment of you has nothing to do with you or anything you have done. Some people just can't come second! Your cakes are beautiful and you have a lot of talent so don't listen to her!

Your cakes are wonderful!! Don't listen to your MIL, look at how many of your cakes people have as a favorite. Obviously the people who really know what they are talking about think you have great talent and you do. I wish my cakes were as good as yours.

I too did not read 9 pages of posts, but your cakes look great. I would have never thought of a cupcake cake like the ones you do. I love the idea. If your mother in law says she doesn't like the way your cakes look tell her that's Ok, I won't make any more for you!!

Your MIL is obviously very jealous of you. Your cakes are beautiful!!! And I am being completely honest. Please don't listen to her...it would be devasting to lose an artist like yourself.
I also did not read all of the comments so forgive me if this is a dupicate of everyone else...that has good taste icon_biggrin.gif !! >^.,.^<

I think you did a great job on that cake. Don't worry about what people say. People will talk. Believe me I know. I don't have any ILs but people will try all the time to discourage you. Keep up the good work. thumbs_up.gif

My MIL isn't the nicest person, but she never was that rude - she always just says "oh that's cute". I think if she were ever that rude, my wife would kick her A**
