I was baking some cupcakes for the cupcake cake I'm making tomorrow. The 2 cupcake pans that I have are a little bigger then some of the other ones that I have used. Anyway, I put both pans in the oven at the same time on the middle rack. One cupcake pan is overlapping the other plan a little bit and the sides of the pans are touching each side of the oven. Anyway, the cupcakes baked and after I pulled them out, I noticed around the edges on top of the cupcakes were a little burnt, particularly on the sides of the pans where they were touching the oven sides. After I pulled the cupcakes out of the pan, I noticed the bottom of the cupcakes were burnt too. Even though I tried the cupcakes and they tasted okay, I decided to make another batch of cupcakes to make sure they turned out okay. The only thing I did differently this time was I baked the cupcakes one pan at a time. Even though I haven't taken the cupcakes out of the pan, they so far look better then the other ones did so hopefully they'll turn out fine. Just a lesson to learn for next time.

Pans should be a about 2 inches from the oven walls and 2 inches apart.

I find that my white cupcakes burn faster than the chocolate even if they are in the same amount of time.
