I've just started reading this decorating forum - and It's GREAT!!! Lot's of good information and hints. I do have one question - I just had a co-worker ask about decorated sugar cookies for a party. How much do ya'll normally charge for decorated cookies? Thanks so much for the help.
The bakery where i work charges $1.75 a cookie. That is a lot to me but you'd be suprised how many thousands of them i roll out a year.(about 10,000 and i live in a small town in MO) And when you think companies like cookies by design charges any where from $3 to $10 a cookie it seems a little more worth it.
I started charging $1.75 (for just the cookie) when I first started. I now charge aroung $1 and inch. Sometimes less. Remember, bags, ribbons, or sticks, they should all cost a little extra. For bags and ribbons, I charge 50 cents extra. The stick is another 50 cents. It doesn't really cost that much but for the extra time, work, etc.
Really, see what works for you. If you don't have much experience, start low, or at cost. Don't go lower than cost- even for family. I ALWAYS charge at least cost, even for family.
I hope this helps. If you want my (personal) pricing chart, you can PM me.

I am just starting to add cookies as well and I have no idea what the going rate is? For those who sell cookies, what are you charging and is that including bagged or unbagged.
Hey manatee, if you could email me the list... I would be grateful. Thank you. Faith
