What Does Torted Mean?

Hi, I would like to know what it means to say a cake was "torted" thanks!

It means that you slice the cake in half (or thirds, or fourths) horizontally and spread some type of filling or icing between the layers. I hope that makes sense! icon_smile.gif

A cake layer is split and filled. the number of splits depends on how deep the layer is. A 3-inch deep pan can produce a layer can could be split into 3 pieces. A 2-inch deep pan makes a layer that is normally split only in half. The multiple layers of cake and filling are torted.
