Hi everyone! Been contemplating making cookies and either using the MMF or the Rolled B/C. For those of you that have used these, which do you prefer? Which is less sweet? I know that the Rolled B/C calls for salt, does it affect the flavor? Also which is easier to use? I don't want something horrible tasting like fondant. Will be doing details in Royal.
Thanks for your input.

I MUCH prefer the MMF over the rolled BC. It tastes much better to me and is easier to work with. In my opnion, rolled BC really does not have much taste and is pretty greasy.

Thank you Patton78! Do you use the recipe posted here on CC?
Thanks,

I do not care for marshmallows, so I don't like the taste of MMF at all. I prefer rolled BC by far. I don't put all the butter flavor in, but add vanilla and almond and YES, put the salt in to cut the sweetness a little. I think it was a little greasy before it's rolled out, but I love how it covers cookies so effortlessly.
Yes, I just use the recipe for MMF that is here on CC. Everyone that I have made it for has really liked it!
Rolled BC all the way! I've tried both...the MMF was easier for me to work with than the rolled BC, but definitely prefer the taste of the Rolled BC much more! I haven't tried these on cookies yet though, mine were on cakes. Good luck though!

I have tried both, and I loved RBC before I used MMF; the taste of BC with the smooth look of fondant. It is kinda greasy though; and a bit sweet for me. Now, may favorite thing to do is to mix half RBC and half MMF. Its very easy to handle and work with, and it tastes good, like the inside of an oreo.
I have not tried the rolled buttercream on cookies yet but I did try the MMF and just did not like the chewiness of the MMF on my cookie. I have used MMF on cakes and have always peeled that part off. I guess I'm just not a big fan of MMF. Best of luck to you!
