Can I add just another egg? I've used sour cream with a yellow cake and it turned out great. I dont know if sour cream will affect the taste of a strawberry cake. I will be using Duncan Hines strawberry supreme cake mix. It will be for a basketball that I am making using the sports ball pan.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cecilia

I don't know the answer to your question, but I thought it was too funny that we both posted about, of all things, Strawberry Cake.

I use sour cream in every cake and it does not affect the taste-if I want more of the flavor of the cake I add a few drops of that cake flavoring for a little zip. But the sour cream should not change anything to do with the taste.

You can use the DH recipe for pound cake. I use it all the time with diffrent flavors. It is delicious and very mosit.
1 pkg Duncan Hines® Moist Deluxe® Cake Mix
1 (3.4 oz) pkg vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
4 large eggs
1 cup water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
Also if you go to the DH website and click on recipe search and then click cake it will come up with TONS of recipes from DH and from other people.

Just an idea ~ I've used a can of strawberry nectar in some cakes before & it turned out very moist/dense! I'll try to post the recipe. It's called "Strawberry Decadence."
