Could it have been Z coils? They have like a spring on the heel of them.. They're not very attractive but they are so very comfortable... It's what the nurses wear here!

Another one to try is "shoes for crews", I wear them and they provide good support and they are slip resistant. These are specifically made for restaurant service workers.

Shoes for Crews are great shoes, and you can get them at Wal-Mart, too.

I like NurseMates. I spoil my feet, LOL, but I am on them all day, and if I don't wear great shoes, my feet hurt!

I wasn't at ICES ... but I had a heel spur for a while, so I got in the habit of decorating in a really cozy pair of slippers (Allen Edmond's $100). I know that's a bit pricey (my DH husband bought me them for Christmas 3 years ago). But they do last quite a while because they are leather and well insulated. The best part is working out of your home in slippers! Sometimes you want to 'sit on your leg' to get different angles, and slippers won't hurt ya. I'm going to check out the shoes at Walmart, too. Thanks!

Not sure about ICES but my wife swears but my wife swears by Birkenstock kitchen clogs. Made for professionals, rubber type of material, can be hosed off. They are more comfortable than barefoot for her.

Sweetcakes, I was at ICES and in fact ended up buying a pair of shoes from those folks. They're FABULOUS! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

The company is called "Walk the Walk" and as far as I can tell, they don't have a website, only an email address: [email protected]

I didn't plan on shoe shopping there, and had totally ignored them for most of the convention. Then, while I was on line waiting to get on the bus for Saturday night's banquet, a couple of ladies in front of my group began singing the praises of the Walk the Walk shoes they were wearing, which they had just purchased. I skeptically went the next day to check them out, and totally fell in love with the shoes!!!!!! Bought a pair of the sandles right there, and I've been wearing them ever since! LOVE 'em! icon_biggrin.gif

They have a couple of styles, including a clog and the sandles. I'm not much of a clog lady myself... but I have a large, wide foot, and am generally hard to fit for shoes, so I'm pretty darn impressed. They ain't cheap -- mine cost $139 -- but I usually pay around that for decent shoes in my size anyway.

I highly recommend them! thumbs_up.gif

Hope that helps!
...Andrea
