I'd like to see a gallery for Religious cakes.

There is a gallery for First Communion. I think a gallery which included Confirmation, Baptism, Bible School, Priest Retirement or priest anniversary, and other religious events plus all the "bible" cakes would all fit nicely into one gallery.

I second the motion!

In our church Babies recieve a name and a blessing, and Children are baptized when they turn 8, so it is kind of a reverse from the christening and first communion. I put a baptism cake in the album for first communion, because I thought it fit well, but religious cakes would cover the spectrum.

Amen!

Umm, from the topic and replies I've read here shouldn't you title it "Christian Cakes"? I have my own religion, and it doesn't fit in that niche. Just suggesting you don't simply use "Religious" unless you are prepared for Pagan, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, or Islamic posts.

Yes, indeed we need an album for "CHRISTIAN CAKES".

You got my vote!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to agree with Morg's comment. I'm not Christian either and it seems to me that those of you who are need a place for all those important celebration cakes.

At the same time, the Bar Mitzvah/Bat Mitzvah gallery ought to be retired. A Bar or Bat Mitzvah is a specific Jewish event and almost none of the cakes in that gallery have anything to do with a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Instead, they are almost all Christian cakes. Imagine calling a gallery "Easter" and then filling it with Soltice Celebration and Chanukah cakes. Doesn't that seem odd to you all?

Since there are so few Bar and Bat Mitzvah cakes, putting them under miscellaneous is much less of an issue.

Just my $0.02.

This suggestion has been noted and we will address organizing the religion based cakes when we get a chance...

I don't really see it as a way to divide up religious sects or setting apart christian religious celebrations.

It is more needed for those looking for ideas for such cakes. (like me before I created mine)

I don't see a need to get rid of anything. If there are only 20 pics of bar/bat mitzvah cakes, I would love to have a convenient place to view them.

I don't see why any religious celebration of any religion couldn't be welcomed. Many times decorators are asked to create a cake for someone of another faith.

This site is being updated constantly for ease of use for all CC members. With the photo gallery growing, it only makes sense that the categories could evolve and/or increase.

EDITED to add:
Thanks, Heath,

I figured you probably had your hands full with all the great updates on CC.

I'm not saying it will happen Leta, but trust me...there are possibly some who would wig out if I popped a pic of a pentagram or pentacle cake into that folder. Its something I've become accustomed to over the 40+ years I've practiced this religion. Some still labor under the misconception we believe in or support the devil. (I always advise them "Thats your book not mine" lol)

I bet this discussion will get heated just as a gallery for such cakes will! ....seems it just too touchy of a topic...

Quick! Let's discuss which is better: scratch or mixes! icon_lol.gif

Oh this thread is funny; nobody can discuss politics, religion or sex without someone getting a hitch in their Getty-up.

I vote for "faith based" gallery. Covers all.

As for mixes or scratch - I don't want to get flamed today. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif
