just wondering how everyone charges for these type of desserts. The undecorated kind...maybe just a 'garnish' on top.

I have an order for the flourless choco truffle cake from the whimisical bakehouse. It will have the choco glaze, sprinkles around the side and then the top will just have drizzles of white & dark chocolate. It will be a 9" one layer ~1.5" and will feed ~12. My ingredient cost is ~$15. With my normal pricing structure (I charge per serving) this would be $18.....BUT my 'normal' cakes don't usually cost this to make.....If I did the supplies x 3 like I've read some other do it would $45...which seems too high. so not sure about how to charge for these types of cakes.

any suggestions??
thanks
christine

Ingredients x3 is a very good start. If you think $45 is too high, adjust it some. Flourless cakes are easy but expensive. Plus you have a board, possible delivery, etc. Minimum you should charge x2 or $36. You could compromise and say $40.

I think $45 is perfect for such a special cake. This isn't a chocolate box mix. It sounds delicious & I want to make one now! =)

$45 sound about right, at least that's how much it is in my area.

Friend charges $40 for a cheesecake. Said ingredients cost almost $20. So $40-$45 sounds about right to me.
