are the number system for Ateco the same as Wiltons numbers for the tips? Is one better than the other or basically the same?

The number system maybe slightly different. I haev some Wilton and some Ateco. Both have different numbers but the shape of the tip is nearly the same. This is my opinion. Maybe someone else can help.

I'm with AgentCakeBaker. I have both. They are very similar but do vary slightly. As for quality - I wouldn't recommend one over the other - they're basically the same as you said.
