and these will be for a wedding. The bride wants a round cookie thumbs_up.gificon_lol.gif iced in white icon_wink.gif I would like to put a monogram on the cookie in black. (Wedding theme is black and white). Since I havent done cookies since forever icon_confused.gif should I use royal icing.. or would the rolled buttercream be a nicer (and easier) alternative. I am hoping to use the food pens to make the monogram.. or will I have to pipe them with royal? icon_cool.gif Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Cookies are for around Aug. 18.

You may want to send a message to antonia74. She is the resident cookie guru. She does lots of wedding cookies just as you are describing. Have you used rolled bc before? I was just reading an article about it on another site and it said that it does take some getting used to to work with it effectively just as a heads up!

Have you tried the writing pens before? I bought them and was very disappointed with them...they did not write smoothly and seemed to be very scratchy to use. You might to do a test run first. Hope this helps!

I am no cookie expert, but from what I have read, you could consider covering the cookies in fondant. I would also do the monogram in Royal because I just don't think the markers will look as nice. The royal will give them that "engraved invitation" look.
