Someone Pleeeeaseee Help Me!!!

I am decorating my grandmas cake, which is covered in fondant, thought I would do some piped on scroll work with royal icing and those stupid Wilton Scroll stencil thingies.
Well I have BUTCHERED the cake! I pressed the patterns into the cake, but it got so screwed up and now the whole thing is a mess. I kept scraping off the icing because I didnt like how it was coming out, and I want to change the design, but I have scroll marks everywhere!!! icon_cry.gif Does anyone have any ideas on how to patch them up? I'm feeling so dissapointed right now, and I have even thought of re-doing them. But I dont want to give up without a fight. I dont care it it doesnt leave a flawless surface (I'll be painting over it) but it needs to be smooth.

can you let it air dry (the royal icing) and the smooth it out with viva?? never used royal icing before so I'm guessing it's similar to bc?? not sure.

My guess - cafefully used Crisco on your finger to try to smooth it out - but, you might have to jusy re do.

I would consider cutting off the fondant and starting over with that. But maybe you need to just walk away from it for awhile and come back to it. Then you might see and easier solution right in front of you.

you might try crisco on your finger and "smooth" out the scroll marks like that. That's the only thing I can think of. Maybe make some scrolls with the fondant and put over them. Good luck!!

I would get the surface as smooth as possible and then put another layer of fondant over the top of the whole thing and start again. Alternately you could cut out a load of flower shapes (or hearts or something similar) and stick them all over the cake and intersperse them with piped dots?
