Here are some photos of part of my basement being renovated into a home bake shop. The project started in February, 2006 and I was up and running and legal in May, 2006. If you have any questions, please post them here or PM me. Hope this helps and inspires someone.

That looks so fantastic...I am envious!

If you don't mind sharing, how much did the renovation end up costing?

Thank you. The room, plus some (not all) equipment cost about $15,000. This includes town costs, electrical, plumbing, materials, stove, fridge, (I had the mixers already) and many, many miscellaneous things that just come up. It cost $800 to incorporate through a lawer, and the Dept. of Agriculture and Markets was $200. There was much more that I can't remember right now, but I'll post when I think of them.

Look awesome! Gongratulations! Makes me wish NJ allowed in home baking businesses! I have a HUGE basement just itching to be re-done into a kitchen!! Enjoy your new space!

It's about 22' x 11'. It's been amazing what I've been able to get in there since I'm still organizing the space. Seem like every day I rearrange something. It's a process I guess. I have a small area out side of the bakeshop for packaging supplies like cake and candy boxes and stuff.
