I would like to make a 3-D Monster Truck cske for my son's 6th birthday if anyone has a recipe that would be great. His birthday is at the end of July.

First of all, welcome to CC!!
May I suggest the White Almond Sour Cream cake (http://forum.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-2322-White-Almond-Sour-Cream-Cake.html). It's nice and dense enough for carving. Just remember to freeze your cakes before carving.
