Egg Yolks Over Egg Whites

Just a stupid question. but hey we're here to teach and learn. If a recipe calls for egg whites can I add the yolk if i wanted to or would it mess up the cake.

It's the White almond sourcream cake... I think the egg whites are just to keep the white colour. so then the cake will be a Yellow almond sourcream cake.... instead. Or would me adding the yolks change the texture and taste etc of the cake... really need to know.

I have added the yolks to a white DH mix. It does make it off white/yellow, but it also changes the texture a little. It seemed to make it more firm.

i don't remember the correct mix but you can use whole eggs if you change the amount of oil or water. Sorry I don't recall off the top of my head.
