Hey Krise--

I have made many treasure chest cakes. Thanks to members of CC.
Depending on how many you need to serve, you can use a 1/4 sheet and cut in half or an 11X15 cut in half and stacked one on top of the other.

Cut a cardboard the same size and use rRice Krispie Treats to make the lid--it's way lighter than cake. Shape the treat with hand and let set overnight. Use 2 dowel sticks to prop lid open--maybe 1" taller than base cake. I only use BC but it can be covered in fondant.

I use fondant to make the edges. And I use a fork to create a woodgrain pattern in BC. I know I have a pic in my photos. Hope that helps...Oh, I put candy necklaces, Ring Pops, and Gold chocolate coins for the treasure and if I have any extra fondant pearls, I throw a few of those in, too. Let me know how it turns out or if you have more questions--Pam
