Does anyone have any decorating ideas? It's the 50th birthday of the president of my company and his assistant just asked if I could do his birthday cake. His favorite is german chocolate. Does anyone have any decorating ideas with the coconut frosting and chocolate? Pictures would be great.

Thanks for your help!

Just curious how you ended up decorating this cake. I seem to have tunnel vision when it comes to decorating a German Chocolate Cake! icon_rolleyes.gif

You know--there is a recipe in Gourmet for an "Inside Out German Chocolate Cake". I've made and and although it's very time consuming, it's also VERY delicious.

ANYWAY--I post all that to say that since it's "inside out", you put the coconut stuff in between the torted layers and then put ganache on the outside of the cake. You could totoally just decorate it like you would any other ganache covered cake.

Just a thought.

Lisa
