I want to try adding something to a cake mix to make it more "homy".
I read on this board to add pudding mix.

Here's my question: Do I add only the powder to the mix or do I prepare the whole pudding recipe and mix it afterwards?

Should I add something else or just the pudding powder?

TIA

I usually add pudding mix (just the powder), 1 1/3 cups water, 1/3 cup oil and 4 eggs. I add only these things, not in addition to box mix directions. Also, try the cake extender recipe here - it is awesome too!!!

There are lots of different options for using a box of pudding in the mix. I use the recipe from the Cake Mix Doctor for pound cake, which is:

1 box cake mix
1 box pudding
1 cup milk
1 cup oil
4 eggs

You add the dry pudding mix to the cake mix. Don't make the pudding first.

I'm sure others will chime in with more "add a box of pudding" recipes. Good luck!
