Icing And Transporting Cupcakes

What method do you use to ice cupcakes? I want them to look as great as possible, but I don't want it to take forever for me to do them either!
Also, what would you recommend for transporting them? I have about 50 cupcakes that I have to travel about an hour with and it is over some pretty rocky terrain.
Thanks!
Crystal
I recommend transporting them using these disposable cupcake inserts: http://www.brpboxshop.com/bakery_boxes/1499.html
They come in singles, 4's, 6's, 1 dozen, 2 dozen and 3 dozen holders.
I use a tip similar to Wilton's 1M tip - basically an oversized open star tip - to make a pretty swirl of icing on top. You can see some examples in my gallery. It goes SO fast - no more icing flat with an offset spatula or knife anymore for me. The swirl is the way to go, at least I think so.
To transport easily, you can buy thick foamboard or a sheet of styrofoam and cut it to fit inside your box. Then insert a toothpick into the styrofoam and stick your cc on the toothpick. This holds well if you don't have time to order something.
Thank you so much! I was thinking about the oversized star tip too so I am glad that is what others use!
fat-sissy - that is an awesome idea! I don't have time to order so that is perfect!
Miriel - thanks for the link! I will def. get some of those on order for the next order i will do!
thank you again to everyone!!!!
