Can anyone teach me how to cover a square cake with MMF?

I have never used fondant before and just cannot figure where all the excess on the sides of the cake goes.

Thanks

in this book by Colette Peter's --> http://shop.cakecentral.com/colettes-cakes-cake-decorating-p-84.html

she shows how she did the cover cakes.

she cuts a piece of fondant in the shape of a "red cross"

measures BC iced cake to get dimensions, transfers to fondant and cuts. sides just fold down and then she pinches them shut.

if you can get hold of the real book, you can clearly see the on at least on corner how the seams meet. gives a very sharp edge.

seems the oh great goddess of cakes takes the fastest, most practical method and doesn't flip out over it having to be one solid piece w/ no seams
