Does anyone know how many cups of Icing it takes to ice a 12x18 sheet cake? Im going to use the whipped cream BC recipe on this site and it yields 3 cups. I know I'll at least have to double it, but do y'all think that will be enough? The decorations are pretty simple, so I wont need a whole lot for that part of the cake. What's do y'all think?

I think 6 cups would be enough if you are not doing a lot of decoration. If I recall, when I did mine, I needed 2 and 1/2 batches because I had to make the layer of icing really thick because it was a chocolate cake with white icing and I could see through it.

Okay, thanks for the info. I was thinking a double batch might be enough. Im doing an almond sour cream cake, so I wont have as much problem with seeing through the icing. Thanks again!
