Thank you for making the poll, Jackie! I really appreciate that!

I don't see a need for the star ratings myself, but if some people want it, then maybe optional is the way to go. I don't think a zero star rating should be one of the options, personally. A 1-5 would make more sense to me, like on the Likert scale. Where there is such a range of ability and experience with cake decorating here, it seems like comparing apples to oranges. A professional decorator with 10 yrs experience compared to a newbie with no classes or someone currently taking classes are all going to have different levels of skill and quality on their cakes, but we all enjoy sharing our pictures. Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to make a poll on this and taking it seriously.

Dont ever compare your cake to anyone elses you are who you are... YOU Have to look back on your photos to see how you have improved that is why most of your older decorators tell you make sure you take photos of all of the cakes you do ... I can look back on older years and see how I have improved... But If I was to compare my self to someone that has been doing cakes for years I would never do another cake.... So remember everyone is at different levels and learn different things compare your cakes to your cakes no one elses...


But I do have to agree that feelings get hurt when there is a rateing system on cakes..
