Ok, I'm ready to start the process of building a business now and advertising. But i don't have a business name. I'm really not sure what to name my business. But I would like to play off my last name, Sweet. I intend to cake, cookies, cupcakes. And would like to market for birthday parties up to weddings, so i am avoiding anything too cutesy. I am located in upstate NY, but not in the complete boonies if they would help at all. So PLEASE help me name my business.

Fun cakes that's why i need everyone's help. I'm in NY. All the names are taken! But I'm not entirely sure about the rules. For some reason i think the taken names are only good for a certain radius around the business or in the county. But i haven't read the rules.

"Sweet Sugar and a little spice...makes you occasion nice!"

Why not just "Sweet's" ??? After all, it IS your last name!!!

in my state, if your business is a sole proprietorship and your name is in some part of the business name then you don't need to file for a ficticious business name license. don't know i that helps.

My business name is JoMama's Signature Sweets. My first name is Joellen and I'm a Mama. I added the Signature Sweets, so, folks would know that I offer baked goods and they are my own style. Everyone seems to really love the name. New customers read my card and say with a snicker, "I like that." They remember it, too. And, that is the main thing.
