I had posted earlier about talking to someone about starting my cake business, and she told me that I would be required a second kitchen. Well I just got off the phone with the health inspector. Because I live outside city limits all they require is a 3 bowl sink, my regular fridge as long as it has a thermometer in it with the right temp. a permit, and a food handlers card. So I am exited to tell my husband that all he needs to do is put me in a single sink. Is this cool or what. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

for those living in Ohio, I found out at least in Montgomery County, (Dayton and surrounding area) that we don't need a second kitchen, we are considered "Cottage Home Producers" and thru the health district I simply send in the form they give me when I call them for it, fill it out, saying what the name of my business is, and that's it..they tell you requirements and perimeters of being a CHP, and one of them is that you cannot sell food items that require refrigeration..cream pies, etc. so for most of us who decorate cakes and cookies that don't need refrigeration, we're in good shape..I hope this helps those in the Ohio area
