May I have your attention please:

I am thinking about giving up...........my cookie strike!!
icon_eek.gificon_surprised.gificon_confused.gifImageImage

Something got me thinking about Christmas cookies the other day and last year I did a Cookie Exchange and started thinking about dates for this year's. I thought, well then, I can't be on strike. I don't mind making them, I love it actually but I just cannot make them like people make them here. I can't do the Royal thing. At this point I don't know if I ever will improve and when I see new people who do such great work and say it stinks, well that makes me feel worse. icon_lol.gificon_cry.gif

Therefore, in lieu of the pending Christmas season (and the two new cookie recipes I want to try), I herefore relinquish my cookie banner strike.....woe is meImage

I have been defeated by inanimate objects....... Image I feel like salmon swimming up the stream.....

You gals are too kind. I have a few spots I go for smilies. I saw that flag waving fellow and knew I'd be using him sooner or later.....*sigh*......

Samsgranny I don't think I will be doing the beach theme, I might not have time this month but we'll see. I have no cookie sheets right now.

Mac I have to get my cookie sheets back from my SIL before I can test but I will let you know. I put the roses she wanted for the wedding she catered on the cookie sheets. I would be trying those out instead of the chocolate No-Fails. I like the NF but am looking for something richer in flavor. They are both chocolate cut out. If they are winners, I am certainly going to share.

Be easy on me ladies whenever my first posting comes out of decorated cookies! Little buggers!!(the cookies, that is)

As far as the Cookie Exchange goes, I haven't even given a thought to what kind. Last year, for our first one, my mother and I made about 4 kinds each and the general rule of thumb is one kind per person but in large quantities--so I've read, anyhoo. There won't be many decorated cookies, I'll do the NF's or whatever I find before then, something cut out to decorate but mostly I can go back to being a fairly happy cookie baker by doing Christmas cookies. I love baking at Christmas and as many as I can handle. One year (many years ago) I did 17 different kinds. I stick with three old favorites then add new ones.
