Attached is a picture of 8" layer cakes I made today. I am not quite sure what went completely wrong, but obviously something did!!!! It may have been the cake mix was old, I ran out of eggs and substituted meringue powder for 1 egg, bake strips ran twice around the pan (too much moisture held in), etc. The possibilities are endless. Luckily, I did remake the cake and it turned out much better. Trust me, the pictures do the cakes justice - they were less than an inch thick, super heavy and just gross.
That is pretty bad! I almost cried for you. I'm glad you tried again with better results. Hee Hee!
