Okay, so I was pretty worried about these, but I am really happy with how they turned out! The were piped with royal icing onto waxed paper with a pattern I found in one of the threads here (sorry I can't remember who posted it). Then I layed the wax paper over an oatmeal container to get the curved shape. After they dried I painted them with luster dust. After a couple days of letting them sit I peeled the wax paper off and Wa La! Tiaras! I made 3 in case of breakage, but none have borken yet. They will go on a princess cake I am making this Saturday for a little girl turning 3.
thanks for looking and sharing my excitement in my little princess crowns!
WOW..they are perfect! I tried to make one last week and I failed miserably. I try to make it the day before I needed the cake finished and it just wasn't enough time to dry...but yours are fantastic!!
You did a great job! I have been nervous about trying the tiaras in royal but yours turned out so pretty. Crossing my fingers that nothing breaks on ya'!
I've got to make fifty minitiaras for petit fours this weekend. Glad to know yours turned out so great!
OUTSTANDING! AWESOME! They are truly beautiful. You do great work, and must be very patient! I'll have to remember this for future reference.
Misdawn-
Surprizingly these didn't take that long! it took about 10 minutes to pipe each of them onto the pattern, I piped them flat and then just placed them over the can to dry. You could place yours over an upside down flower former for minatures. I painter then after a day of sitting while they were still on the can and then peeled the paper off the next day. the painting took the longest to do, if you aren't doing that I bet you could knock these out pretty fast. Good luck, I bet they will be stunning on petit fours!
Nice Job. I wanted to do one for my daughters birthday but just never really got around to it.....or maybe I was too scared of failing.
These look really awesome. You should be really proud

Nice job!!! I bet you would save tons of time if you colored the royal icing and worked with 3 different bags....then just swipe a little luster dust on them to make them all glittery and pretty!!!
They will love them!!
Great job!
Could you share your pattern with us? I would love to make a tiara on top of a 6 in cake for my niece's birthday in a couple of weeks.
Thanks,

Thanks for all the great compliments! I love the idea of piping 3 different colors, that would have saved some time, but I really loeve the effect of the painted on luster dust as well.
Here is the thread that I got the tiara patterns from:
